Welcome to Lloyd & Buck Seasoning Blends!

Hi, I'm Joni. I'm the face behind the food.

I love cooking. I love everything about cooking - except cleaning up my (almost always huge) mess. I love cooking the way it was done before Betty Crocker and Hidden Valley - from scratch. Though, it wasn't always this way.

There was a time, not too long ago that my mashed potatoes came from a box and if I made tacos, the seasoning came out of a yellow can. Then one day it all changed.

I was at the grocery store and I picked up my favorite bottle of ranch dressing. Confused as to the difference between "light" and "original" I turned the bottle over and began examining the ingredients. Very quickly I became concerned...what is all this stuff? I picked up another bottle and then another and sure enough they all contained the same mystery ingredients. That was all the motivation I needed.

It didn't take long for me to start making my own dressings from scratch - Ranch and Italian came first. Then came homemade grill seasoning. Along the way, I made a startling discovery...this homemade stuff tasted wa-ay better than the prepackaged stuff at the grocery store and it wasn't difficult to prepare. I was enjoying my new found hobby of homemade dressings and seasonings and then one day....

....my husband and I went camping with my Mom and Dad. Planning on making some grilled chicken I whipped up a batch of my homemade Italian dressing for a marinade.

After tasting the chicken my mom asked me, "What brand of Italian dressing is this?"

Okay, here we go....

"Uh, well. You see, uh. I made it."

"WHAT?! You made this?!?! Joni, this is DELICIOUS! Wow, I'm so IMPRESSED! Can you give me recipe? What else do you have??? Do you have any others??? You know what? YOU COULD SELL THIS!"

My mom has never been one to under react.

That day, Lloyd & Buck Seasoning Blends was born...at a state park in Austin, campsite #2. The product line expanded quickly, always sticking to my original intent, avoiding the preservatives, flavor enhancers and anti-caking agents that, so often, find their way into our food.

Like the original products all Lloyd & Buck blends are easy to prepare (complete with directions and recipes) AND they taste better than the stuff you buy off the supermarket shelf. It only takes one bite...then you'll be a believer!
